And the rockets' red glare...

Lookeee here at this eye candy! My new shoes! As I have gotten older and have less use for them, I find myself buying more heels, more snazzy, grown up shoes. It's been awhile since I bought some useful shoes. Well, except for running shoes. But that's a different animal altogether. These fun ones were love at first sight. And double bonus, when I got to the register, the cashier told me I would be getting a certificate good for buying MORE shoes for buying so many shoes! Ahahahahahaaaa (witch cackle). Really, I'm not that bad. It's taken me about 5 years to rack up that many points. And yes I've already worn them!

I did finish week 5 of the Star Quilt Along. I think these are turning out pretty well. It is nice to work on them week by week (never mind that I am about 7 weeks behind) and really concentrate on those points and triangles.
And I made this cute dress from a pattern I bought on YCMT. I think it is called the Faith dress. Easy and quick. It's for my husband's niece and it should fit her for quite a while.

Oh, and here is something great that I received in the mail from the June mini quilt swap. Ulla made it and it is so beautiful. It's hard to tell from my picture (skill I must improve), but she hand stitched stars on the yellow star and all over the inner blue. Each time I look at it, I think of the summer sky at night. The two mini quilts I have received have been so creative. Such a joy to share quilts with these great group members.

We've got some qt (quality time) family time coming up for a little over a week. Just realized I should have brought my machine in to be serviced since I won't be using it! Oh well. My mother in law told me she once went for about 10 years without getting hers serviced, so mine should be okay. I keep thinking I should give my machine a name, but I'm still trying to figure out her personality. Yep, definitely a she.

Happy 4th to everyone here in the US of A . Enjoy your many freedoms and remember what a tumultuous, exciting, fearful, yet hopeful time it must have been during the Declaration of Independence. Do ya think there's really a watermark map on the back of that thing (National Treasure reference)???? hahahaha.

Wow! I love those shoes. I recently went on a cruise but before I went, there was plenty of shopping to be done with shoes for each and every outfit. You go girl!
