Does anyone remember INXS? I mean the REAL INXS? Not the one with the modelboy lead singer backed by leathery old men, but Michael Hutchence INXS? I went to see them once at a small venue when I was 15. I wore a blackflag tshirt to the concert. Wonder where that thing went...anyhoo, that is how I've been feeling-not enough time, those lyrics. I think I've been running around like a caged cheetah trying to get to all of the things life has on my plate. And then I realized how little living I have been doing in the midst of all this running around, busy business. I like the satisfaction of finishing projects. But for some reason, I pile so many projects on that I can't complete them all. Last week in the midst of life, I managed to finish a cute little dress for my husband's niece and my FIRST pair of pants. Whew, those pants are hard to do and I still need to tweak the fit. Sewing clothes for myself is hard. Not like quilts-where I can visualize the problems in my head and fix them.
So how does anyone do it? Be the mom, the wife, the chauffeur, the blahdy blah and still manage to fit in time to create? Creating is important to me. Necessary even. I think this most be an age old question with few answers. Kids do have a way of not adhering to the schedule imagined...Next post, pictures and hopefully a brighter attitude. A happy thought - the sewing machine is just a room away...

It is an age old question..at least for us quilters/crafters. My mom told me once, you have to take time to be you in order to take care of others. That's why I work to make time for creating.
It's tough, and if anyone has the answer I would love to know. I am exhausted most of the time, and never feel like I have done all that needs doing. You just have to do what you can, and let the other stuff go.
Thanks. :) We're all in the same boat, aren't we??!!
