Meet me halfway...

This weekend I went on a retreat and made some new friends and got to know some acquaitances better, which is very exciting. It was really interesting, rejuvenating, and quite a departure from my normal introverted self. And it was at the beach. Ah, the beach!

As I said last time, I have been working on lots o' blocks lately for bees, swaps, whatnots. Here are some peeks:

The two non-chicken blocks are for flickr swaps using some of my stash. As always, I have tons of ideas percolating. I've been enjoying my fellow quilters' forays into embroidery and now I want in! Of course, I can't be normal and buy a pattern. Nooooo. That would be too easy! Instead I had a great idea-I'll take some of my daughters drawings and use those as embroidery patterns. I'm not a great stitcher, but it is always good to stretch sideways a little bit. I'll let you know how it goes.

Hehehe, yeah, change the business name... olivethebeach is too confusing. With the other, I would for sure have known it was YOU all the time... ;)
