If I our weekend had a sound, it would be one of those old record players on the "high" setting, an unintelligible warbling. Seriously, when did it get so busy with kids? The end of the year stuff is in high gear with parties here, rehearsals there, meetings, meetings everywhere. Amidst all the other daily boring things like exercise, cleaning, laundry. And did I mention it is super hot right now? Luckily, I got a few hours yesterday to steal away into the studio. Of course, for much of the time I was accompanied by a small whiner who was not appeased by Miss Spider, Little Bill, or Wonder Pets. Still, I did manage to finish a super cute pillowcase dress for a super cute little 2 year old. How fun is it to watch little kids who get bored opening presents? Or toss aside the ones that are completely not interesting to them...like above dress!
I received my main fabrics for the star quilt along over at Crazymomquilts from Fabric.com. As you can see, I am not even caught up. But I will be soon. I just need a chunk of time without any whining, laundry, or strange requests (Mom, can I use the plastic wrap and some dried beans?) I've got some other blues that will be great in the star quilt. I have a thing for blue, really I do. It all goes with that ocean thing I've got. Which gets me thinking, it's been way to long since I was at the beach...I do a lot of creative thinking at the beach. And swimming, sunning, reading, building sand castles. I wonder if the lucky dogs who live at the beach go every day like I think I would. Well, I'd love to hear what you're working on, so leave a comment!

It's a very little quilt! Maybe 6 x 6, but it was fun and good practice for me for the triangles. Thank you!
Beautiful fabric for your quilt-a-long quilt. Love it! Can't wait to see the blocks. It won't take you any time at all to catch up.
