Mardi Gras mambo, down in New Orleans

I've had my fair share of Mardi Gras fun, but that never stops me from missing it each year.
Here's a little something something for groovage: the Meters! If you're not familiar with the greats of New Orleans funkitude, go grab some tunes. You can't help but roll with the punches listening to this stuff.

And now onto the quilting! I finally got my squares finished to send off to themad1s on my flickr Buzz Cut group. I had a super hard time cutting into the fabric and then deciding what blocks to do. I went with part of Karen Stone's Indian Orange Peel pattern, a triange thingamajig, and a log cabinish thing with what was left. In the mail it goes today!

And I received my BOCE birds! Absolutely delightful. Cheers everyone. Happy Mardi Gras. It's all ashes tomorrow!

Your squares are beautiful! Wasn't it so exciting to finally receive the birds? I got mine yesterday. Now I'm trying to decide what to do with them. How are you going to display yours?
